From a small vineyard of 1.88 hectares of black earth and large white pebbles, particularly rich in silt and nutritional properties, which preserves the Frappato clone planted by Giuseppe Jacono at the end of the 19th century, the first in the family to start wine production in province of Ragusa, replanted as espalier in 2020, the Frappato Vigna Biddine Sottana – Vino di Contrada was produced starting from 2024. A complex red, obtained by aging in steel for 8 months and in the bottle for a minimum of 5 months, rich in hints of red fruits, ripe blackberries and raspberries, rose flowers and a fresh, aromatic and structured flavor from which they emerge in the aftertaste small red fruits and notes of jam and with a finish of the right tannicity and long persistence. It goes well with aperitifs based on fresh and mature cheeses, cured meats, marinated Sicilian red tuna and in tataki or swordfish roll.

With this wine Gaetana Jacono wanted to pay homage to the family history: the wording "Biddine" recalls the ancient name of today's Biddini, the district where Frappato is produced and the label is inspired by a 1906 bottle from the farm Biddini created by Giuseppe Jacono, to whom "I owe the vision of choosing a place where Frappato expresses its uniqueness and which I follow with the same awareness".
